From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
